MIS have completed the first U.K. installation of the new Russound RFR-E5 remote control in Kingsway, Shandon, Helensburgh. Our client wanted to control his Russound E series without the need for keypads.

The RFR-E5 features a high-resolution, gray scale screen that displays source information and feedback from an ACA-E5 Multizone Controller Amplifier, and an intuitive click wheel interface that allows users to easily scroll through playlists, stations, album libraries, and media collections. Through RF technology, it can control up to 12 system sources and 48 system zones from any zone in the system. The backlit remote also controls local sources, such as televisions, cable boxes and DVD players through IR pass-through.

The RFR-E5 communicates with an ACA-E5 system by two way RF signals transmitted to its charging cradle. The charging cradle connects to the ACA-E5 through a single CAT-5e cable, allowing it to be located up to 250’ from a Multizone Controller Amplifier. RF communication and flexible charging cradle placement also make the RFR-E5 the perfect solution to controlling retrofit zones that do not include a keypad or touchscreen for control.
