More Than Just Techno-Babble

Polk’s Time Lens technology aligns the tweeter and mid-bass drivers along their acoustic center on the same spatial plane to create a more unified sound, allowing you to identify where sounds are coming from more easily. Meanwhile, the grille lens smoothes out the tweeter’s frequency response, creating a more balanced, natural sound uncommon in compact speakers.

Neutral Territory

Sound likes to bounce. No, we don’t mean that it enjoys jumping up and down to a rhythmic beat — we mean it moves off every surface it hits. Much like the actual bouncing though, if you get enough sound bouncing in the same space, it can crash into itself causing nothing but heartache and acoustic loss. While Polk can’t control what happens once the sound leaves the speaker and enters your room, it can control what’s happening inside the speaker to make sure that the sound bouncing around your room hasn’t already had some crashes inside. To make sure that you get acoustically neutral sound, Polk employs a Curved Enclosure design, using non-parallel surfaces that create a stronger, more rigid enclosure that won’t cause sound coloration. Combined with the Dynamic Balance driver technology, it also tunes out any unwanted sound by controlling the driver’s frequency response. The result is a rich, warm sound, ready to bounce straight into your eardrums (without causing any damage on the way).
